Ms. BenEsther Davis
Ms. BenEsther Davis was born February 18th, 1939, to Ms. Christel Copes and Mr. Clyde Lawhorne in Homer Louisiana.
Affectionately known as “Bennie” she accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Bishop J.E. Abernathy.
After graduating from Manal High School in 1957, she joined the workforce starting at Columbia Toy Factory where she worked for several years before securing a position with the IRS working there until retiring at the age of 57.
Bennie enjoyed a full life with family and friends. Spending time crocheting, playing cards, dancing, and traveling. The time she loved most was being a loving mother to her only child Terri Michelle. Upon learning of her mother’s health decline Terri moved Bennie to Mississippi to live with her.
On March 3rd, 2026, Ms. BenEsther peacefully departed this life at home with Terri and son-in-law Leon at her side.
Bennie was proceeded in death by both her parents and one sister Ms Alice Ware.
Bennie leaves to cherish her memories: Terri M (Leon) Norman, six sisters Alma (Lee) Britt, Queen Lawhorne, Silvertean Williams, Tressie (Mark) Sanders, Geraldine Lawhorne, Virginia Humphrey, and one brother Johnny Lawhorne. A host of relatives and friends. To know Ms BenEsther “Bennie” Davis was to love her!
