We gather to honor the life of LaWanda Nicole Ealy, who graced us with her presence for 46 beautiful years. With heartfelt love and deep respect, we remember LaWanda Nicole Ealy, who was born on October 2, 1979, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Alexander and Willie Ealy.
At an early age, LaWanda accepted Christ and joined St. Peter M.B. Church in Morton, Mississippi, where she remained a faithful and devoted member. She served with dedication as the youth director, choir member, secretary of multiple auxiliaries, and teacher for both Sunday School and Mission. LaWanda was also a former member of the East Central Gospel Choir and a current member and Executive Assistant of the Children of Christ Gospel Choir, offering her gifts with joy and commitment.
LaWanda graduated from Forest High School in Forest, Mississippi, in 1998. She went on to earn her Associate degree from East Central Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked with the Bank of Forest for several years and was currently employed as an auditor with the Mississippi Department of Revenue, where she faithfully served for 19 years.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother, two uncles, and one aunt.
LaWanda passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, Mississippi. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Alexander and Willie Ealy; her sister, Amy (Brian) Jackson; her sister, Kristina Ealy; her brother, Tevin (Kadeshia) Chapman; six nieces; three nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
